AI audit

The AI audit: proof before budget.

From €4,000 to €20,000 excl. VAT depending on scope, with the amount fixed before work starts. Four named documents, a GO / NO-GO decision that allows stopping, and you will know what AI is worth in your company before committing a single euro of build budget.

Scope

What the audit examines in your company.

An AI audit is not a market study or a panorama of available technologies. It looks at your work, your data and your tools (the three things that decide whether a project holds), then puts the expected gain against the cost.

What drives the cost is almost never the model.

Processes

Your processes, as they actually run

Not the org chart or the written procedure: the way work actually gets done, with its manual reworks and its exceptions. That is where the time an automation can give back is found, and also where the stability of the process to automate is judged.

Data

The real state of your data

Where it lives, who keeps it up to date, what it is worth. An agent plugged into files whose freshness nobody can vouch for states false things with confidence. The audit sorts what is usable as is, what needs preliminary work, and what exists nowhere.

Tools

The tools already in place

ERP, CRM, document management, e-mail, shared spreadsheets: what exists is kept and connected. The audit maps the integration points available and the ones missing, because they weigh on the cost of going to production far more than the choice of model.

Economics

The gain, quantified before it is promised

For each selected project, the audit puts the expected annual gain against the cost of going to production. When the second exceeds the first, it is written in the roadmap, and the project does not start.

Deliverables

What the audit leaves you, whatever happens next.

The audit ends with named documents. They belong to you, including if you go no further.

Report

The audit report

The real state of your processes, your data and your tools, an inventory of what you already own, and the missions we propose. Usable data sources, open integration points, skills present in-house: part of what an AI project requires is often already there, and nobody has written it down in one place.

Costing

A costed AI roadmap

The projects identified, ranked by expected gain and by difficulty of implementation, each with its order of magnitude of budget and the condition that must be met for it to start. This is the document on which the GO or NO-GO is decided.

Specification

A specification for each selected mission

What the system must do, on which data, with which human validations and against which acceptance criteria. Writing this document takes several days, and it is what allows you and us to commit to a precise need rather than an intention.

COMEX

A briefing note for the executive committee

The same work, told in ten minutes of reading: what is proposed, what it costs, what it brings in, what can go wrong. An executive who did not attend the audit must be able to arbitrate on this document alone.

These documents are produced by the audit, not by the mission that might follow. They are written to be reread without us: if you decide to consult elsewhere, another provider can quote on them.

Price

From €4,000 to €20,000 excl. VAT, depending on scope.

The amount depends on the number of processes examined and the number of sites involved. It is fixed before work starts, and it does not move along the way.

Step 01

One-hour diagnostic

Free of charge

A conversation with the founder of Ailix Consulting. You lay out your situation, you leave with a frank opinion on feasibility and on the order in which to proceed. Nothing to prepare.

Exityou leave it there, with no commercial follow-up.

Step 02

Business and technical audit

From €4,000 to €20,000 excl. VAT depending on scope

Ailix Consulting examines your processes, the real state of your data and the tools already in place. Four deliverables: the audit report, a costed AI roadmap, a specification for each selected mission and a briefing note fit for the executive committee. The amount depends on the number of processes examined and the number of sites involved, and it is fixed before work starts.

Exitthe four documents belong to you, including if you go no further.

Step 03

GO / NO-GO decision

Included in the audit

The decision is made with you, on the strength of the roadmap. NO-GO: the project stops there and no build budget is committed. GO: the mission is priced, and you decide.

Exitthis is the last door before any budget commitment.

Step 04

Mission on a monthly fixed fee

From €9,000 excl. VAT per month

The fee covers design, development, production release, documentation and follow-up once the system is in service. Scope and deliverables are fixed at signature, and the budget is an operating expense.

Exitthe fee stops at the agreed term, and you leave with the code and its documentation.

The first three steps amount to at most €20,000 excl. VAT. The build budget is only discussed after the GO / NO-GO decision.

Writing a specification takes several days, inside the audit. If the corresponding mission is then signed, the days spent on it are deducted from its amount. The report, the roadmap and the briefing note never are: this is what leaves the audit free to conclude NO-GO.

Fixed fee

What the monthly fixed fee changes for your finance department

  • Hiring commits you durably, after a search, an onboarding and a ramp-up. The fixed fee commits to a scope and deliverables, and stops at the agreed term.
  • The spend is monthly and booked as an operating expense: no investment to capitalize, and your cash flow is organized around an amount known in advance.
  • Fixed monthly payments set at signature, with no cost overrun discovered at the end of the project.
  • Your borrowing capacity remains intact for your other investments.
  • Compared with buying a license or a capitalized asset, the expense is spread out and VAT is recovered as you go.
  • Ailix Consulting holds the French CII accreditation: eligible work entrusted to the agency can qualify for the innovation tax credit.
Decision

The only moment you commit.

The GO / NO-GO decision is made with you, roadmap on the table. It has two exits, and both rest on the same figures.

NO-GO

The project stops there

The conditions for success are not met: the necessary data does not exist or is not usable, the target process is not stable enough, or the expected gain does not cover the cost of going to production. No build budget is committed.

The roadmap stays with you, with the marker that will say when to revisit. A NO-GO is not a failure of the audit: it is what the audit was paid for.

GO

The mission is priced

The scope of the first project is settled, the mission is priced on a monthly fixed fee, and you decide. Nothing forces you to take the whole roadmap at once: it is ranked in an order that lets you start with a single project.

Method

The three NO-GO reasons we encounter

Missing data, a process being overhauled, a gain that does not absorb the cost of production: the method page details all three, and the five steps that frame the stopping point.

Anti-target

Who the audit is not for.

Better to say it before the first meeting rather than at the third.

A one-off demonstration with no follow-up in mind, a project with no sponsor and no arbitrated budget, an organization that shops on the lowest price first: Ailix Consulting is not the right partner, and the audit would say so in its first week.

Ailix Consulting also has no round-the-clock support, no volume capacity, and not the footprint a national framework agreement requires. On those three needs, a large IT services firm remains the right answer, and the one-hour diagnostic will point you there.

“We publish our prices because the question comes up at the first meeting anyway. An executive who discovers the amount after several meetings has wasted his time, and we have wasted ours.”
Alexandre Cougnenc, founder of Ailix Consulting
